adapting ...

I am lucky in that my kids are pretty good at going with the flow ... 98% of the time anyway ... melissa & I joke with our kids when the 2% hits that they need to get some  "coping skills" 

... the older I get the more I realize that a person's ability to be happy / successful / content is seemingly directly proportional to their aptness in coping

... as I pray, I ask God to help me in this area - help me to be more like Jesus

Not like Peter who was emotionally volatile - Paul who was intense - Thomas who was a skeptic - John who was a softy

BUT ALL THOSE THINGS - Jesus was emotional/intense/skeptical/soft-hearted

... somehow blend all those things into the kind of person that Jesus was - the kind of person who knows the right skills in every situation - not just coping skills - but Jesus skills
